Sonapani
Sonapani ( meaning Hindi for golden water) was a range of artisan gourmet Indian pickles and chutneys designed in Switzerland (by Mick Cavanagh) and produced in the village of Sonapani which faces the Himalayan range of Nanda Devi.
The Sonapani project assisted the local community by paying fair prices to growers and creating employment opportunities in this remote area. The products were crafted/designed to appeal to the European market.
The textured paint stroke above the type in the logo references the "golden water" and the contours of the Nanda Devi mountain range. The marketing material uses bright saturated reds and oranges and greens reflecting the vibrancy of indian culture and the rich colours of the fruits used in the products.
